On July 10, Hon.Viliami Latu, Acting Prime Minister of Tonga, attended a workshop hosted by the Chinese Embassy to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). On behalf of the Tongan Government, he extended warm congratulations and conveyed his best wishes to President Xi Jinping, the Chinese Government and all CPC members.

Hon. Latu noted that over the past 105 years, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, China has achieved historic transformations, with remarkable accomplishments in poverty alleviation, technological innovation, and infrastructure development. The fruits of development have benefited the Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world. He highly commended the Communist Party of China's unique governance strengths and its people-centered development philosophy, noting that China has contributed its wisdom and provided its solutions to the development of countries around the world.

Hon. Latu stressed that the friendship between Tonga and China is rooted in mutual respect and win-win cooperation. Tonga stands ready to strengthen exchanges with China on governance experience, continue to deepen practical cooperation, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and intensify international collaboration. He expressed Tonga's willingness to join hands with China in advancing sustainable development and jointly safeguarding world peace and prosperity.
