Mr. Oko, Chief Executive Officer of Tonga’s Ministry of Education and Training, Chinese teachers in Tonga, as well as teachers and students from multiple Tongan schools participated in the event, with nearly one thousand people in attendance.

Ambassador Liu stated that Chinese, as one of the official languages of the United Nations, is not only a tool for daily communication but also an important carrier of the 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization. He hoped that more Tongan students would learn Chinese and become young messengers between the two countries. China is committed to deepening educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Oko noted that learning Chinese is regarded as an important bridge to understand Chinese culture and enhance relationships between the two nations. Many schools in Tonga have offered Chinese courses, further deepening cultural exchanges and cultural ties between Tonga and China.
A variety of activities were held, including calligraphy, paper-cutting, dumpling-making and Baduanjin fitness exercise. Students took an active part in the event and enjoyed themselves immensely. Through hands-on practice and interactive experience, they gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.
