On January 28, Ambassador Liu Weimin met with Mr. Christopher Cocker, Chief Executive Officer of the Pacific Tourism Organization. The two sides exchanged views on tourism cooperation between China and SPTO.

Ambassador Liu pointed out that as a member state of SPTO, China has always actively supported and engaged in the development of the tourism industry of Pacific Island countries. Hope to work with SPTO to elevate the tourism cooperation between China and Pacific Island countries to a new level.

Mr. Cocker noted that tourism is a pillar industry of Pacific Island countries and its significance is growing by the day. The Chinese tourism market is huge, and the two sides share broad prospects for cooperation. He expressed the willingness to join hands with China to further deepen practical cooperation in the tourism sector, fully unlock cooperation potential, and achieve win-win outcomes.
