Chinese Embassy in Tonga Held the Reception to Celebrate the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China

On 25th September , the Chinese Embassy in Tonga held the reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Around 200 guests attended, including Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for His Majesty’s Armed Forces, HRH Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala, Acting Prime Minister, Hon. Taniela Fusimalohi, Minister for Tourism, Hon. Mo‘ale Finau, the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the Chinese community and people from all walks of life in Tonga.

Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Ruan Dewen said that China has made great achievements over the past 76 years, and China-Tonga relations have continued to deepen since the establishment of diplomatic ties 27 years ago. China appreciates Tonga’s firm commitment to the one-China principle and is ready to work with Tonga under the framework of the Four Global Initiatives to jointly write a new chapter in the comprehensive strategic partnership between our two countries.

In his speech, Acting Prime Minister Hon. Taniela Fusimalohi warmly congratulated the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, spoke highly of the progress made in practical cooperation, acknowledged the Global Governance Initiative and expressed Tonga’s willingness to further advancing bilateral relations.
