Tonga is an island country in the South Pacific, which has a long history, beautiful scenery, unique culture and honest folk tradition, with a good reputation as the " friendly islands".

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1998, the bilateral relations between China and Tonga have developed steadily, especially the friendship between the two peoples is deepening and the cooperation in various fields is continuously expanding. China and Tonga have already established a comprehensive strategic partnership featuring mutual respect and common development, which opens broad prospects for friendly cooperation between the two countries. I'm confident that  the China-Tonga relations will achieve new progress and bring tangible benefits to the two peoples in the second decade of the 21st Century.
