Ambassador Liu Weimin Meets with the Resident Representative of the UNDP Pacific Office in Fiji

On April 30th, Ambassador Liu Weimin met with Tuya Altangerel, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pacific Office in Fiji. Both sides shared their practices and experiences in providing assistance to Tonga in key areas such as energy transition, environmental protection, and climate resilience. They agreed that strengthening cooperation between the two sides would inject new impetus into the sustainable development of Tonga.

Ambassador Liu stated that China attaches great importance to the role of United Nations agencies, supports the UNDP in carrying out development assistance projects in Tonga, and is willing to actively explore trilateral cooperation.

Ms. Altangerel highly commended China's technological advantages and practical actions in the field of foreign aid and expressed her expectation of strengthening collaboration and synergy with China.
