On 6^th March, Counselor Ruan Dewen met with Mr. Aisea Aholelei, CEO of the Tonga Rugby Union. The two sides exchanged views on rugby sports and deepening sports exchange and cooperation.

Mr. Aisea Aholelei gave a briefing on the current progress and challenges in Tonga’s rugby development, expressing sincerely gratitude for the precious support provided by the Chinese Embassy. He looked forward to further strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting mutual improvement in rugby.

Counselor Ruan spoke highly of the outstanding achievements made by Tonga’s rugby teams in recent years, emphasizing that sports cooperation serves as a vital bridge to enhance the friendship and people-to-people connectivity between our two countries. He said that the Chinese Embassy stands ready to provide assistance within its capacity to support Tonga’s rugby development, enrich the contents of bilateral sports collaboration, and inject new momentum into the growth of China-Tonga relations.
