Counsellor Ruan Dewen Led Young Diplomats to Conduct a Symposium at Tonga National University

On 20th February, Counsellor Ruan Dewen led young diplomats from the embassy to conduct a symposium with teachers and students at Tonga National University(TNU).

Counsellor Ruan stated that educational cooperation is an important part of the friendly relations between China and Tonga. He expressed support for TNU in establishing closer cooperative relations with China in language teaching, talent cultivation and other aspects. He welcomed students from the university to actively apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship, aiming to bring people - to - people and educational exchanges between the two sides to a new level.

Vice Chancellor of TNU Dr. Paunga attended some of the activities. Deputy Vice Chancellor of TNU Dr. Steen warmly welcomed Counsellor Ruan and the delegation. She expressed gratitude to China for its support for the development of the university and said that the university is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with China in broader fields and at a deeper level.

Feng Hao, a young diplomat, gave a vivid presentation on China, in which TNU teachers and students were very much interested. The young diplomats of the Embassy and TNU students had enthusiastic interactions with each other.
