On New Year's Eve, 2024, the Chinese Embassy in Tonga, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism of Tonga, successfully hosted the first-ever New Year’s Fireworks Show to celebrate the arrival of the new year.

H.E. Ambassador Liu Weimin, People's Representative Hon. Mateni Tapueluelu, representatives from various sectors in Tonga, overseas Chinese living in Tonga and Embassy staff joined thousands of others to enjoy the performance.

At the stroke of midnight, fireworks lit up the night sky, offering a visual feast for the audience. The air was filled with music and cheers, creating a joyful and harmonious atmosphere.

Ambassador Liu expressed his best wishes to the people and China-Tonga relations during an interview with the Tonga Broadcasting Commission.
