From November 20 to 22, H.E Ambassador Mr. Liu Weimin visited Vava'u. During his visit, Ambassador Liu met with the Governor of Vava’u Lord Fakatulolo. Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Samiu Vaipulu, Minister of Trade and Economic Development and Minister of Tourism Hon. Viliami Latu, he visited the constituency and learned about the conditions of agricultural production and people's livelihood in Vava'u.
Ambassador Liu said, in recent years, China-Tonga relations have maintained sound momentum, and the two peoples shared profound traditional friendship. China will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Vava'u in the fields of agriculture, tourism and sister-city relationship, and provide assistance to the economic and social development of Vava’u. The Tongan side warmly welcomed Ambassador Liu to Vava'u, appreciated China's long-term precious assistance to Vava’u, and would like to positively learn from China's development experience so as to further deepening friendly cooperation between the two countries.
During his stay in Vava'u, Ambassador Liu also visited the China-Aid Agro-Tech. Assistance Project and other projects, Chinese Medical Team, and had a conversation with representatives from local Chinese community.
