Notice About Fingerprint Retention Upon Chinese Visa Application

According to relevant laws and regulations of China, the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Tonga will collect the 10 fingerprints of all applicants of Chinese visas starting from 1 January 2019 (this date included) with exemption for the following personnel :

1. Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

2.Applicants holding a diplomatic passport or eligible for application of diplomatic, service and courtesy visa of China;

3.Applicants who have applied for Chinese visas to the same Chinese Embassy or Consulate (or visa application certer) with the same passports and have had fingerprints collected within 5 years ;

4.Applicants with all the ten fingers disabled or fingerprints unable to be collected.

Fingerprint collection is a technical means to improve the personal data collection of visa applicants by China in keeping with international trend of development in the visa technology which does not raise the threshold of Chinese visa application. China has always been committed to improving the facilitation of personnel exchanges with foreign countries, and it always welcomes foreigners to visit China and is ready to provide any necessary facilitation in visa application.
